Saying 'the seaside' has an almost childish expression to it; as if you can only play on the beach, eat ice cream and go on the galloping horses when you are young. Yet there is something about doing all of this when you are older too (granted, not that much older) that makes it all the more fun.
A few weeks ago we went on holiday to the seaside and it was truly lovely. We had fish and chips, walked along the pier, went on a boat trip, ate ice cream, took a ride on a steam train, visited pretty gardens, went on a carousel ride and watched the sun set over the sea. It just goes to show how you can still have a great holiday even if it is still in England! (Plus it only rained on one day, result!)
