1. The Eiffel Tower
Everyone knows the Eiffel Tower, I mean come on. Worth walking up at sunset so you get to see Paris at day and night!
2. The Louvre
Prestigious museum and home to the famous Mona Lisa (yes I did get a selfie with it (no my prepubescent self will not feature in this post)), the Louvre is another must see if you are interested in art, sculpture, architecture etc. With famous pieces from the Renaissance, Greece and Ancient Egypt, you will definitely be visually and mentally stimulated! (However my opinion on the Mona Lisa remains unchanged, what's all the fuss about...?!)3. Notre-Dame
Beautiful cathedral and setting for the famous novel 'The Hunchback of Notre-Dame' by Victor Hugo, nice to take a picture of and light a candle in, if you like that sort of thing. It is also next to the love lock bridge which has accumulated many more padlocks since I visited!
4. Sacre-Couer
A basilica, aka the sacred heart of Paris, was the most breathtaking architecture of them all.5. Arc de Triomphe
An archway stood in the centre of the Place Charles de Gaulle and no doubt a familiar sight to any eye!6. Luxor Obelisk
Standing tall in the Place de la Concorde, a public square home to statues, fountains and the Egyptian obelisk. Being 23 metres high and originally standing in the entrance to the Luxor temple in Egypt.7. Champs-Elysees
Boulevard running between the Place de la Concorde and the Place Charles de Gaulle. Similar to London's Oxford Street, aka pickpocket central.8. Galeries Lafayette
An upmarket French department store. It has a nice ceiling.9. The River Seine
The river running throughout Paris (like the Thames in London). Was lovely to take a boat cruise down to see some of the sights along the way! Would recommend going at night so you can see the pretty lights of the historic buildings.
Missed the Luxor Obelisk. I guess this means I have to head back to Paris soon (and binge on crepes and nutella)!
ReplyDeleteThere's always an excuse to go to Paris! Love your blog by the way :)
