St Dunstan-in-the-East

As a final shoot for a unit on my A Level Photography course, it was suggested that I go to St Dunstan in the East church gardens... atmospheric doesn't quite cover it! The church was built around 1100, which is very old considering how well maintained it is, and suffered great damage from the Great Fire of London. So it was rebuilt by Sir Christopher Wren - St Dunstan's being one of the 52 churches along with St. Paul's Cathedral he rebuilt after the fire. After the Blitz during World War Two, it was decided not to rebuild the church and it is as it remains today. Tucked away behind the shops, restaurants and offices right next to the Tower of London and Monument, this ruined church and gardens are an ideal place for a shoot, Instagram post or general admiration of the site. Of course, I did all three!

Unfortunately it was closed as they were carrying out work to improve the gardens but I still managed to get some nice photographs from outside the railings! (Which required plenty of balance and excessive arm stretching).
